Experience
Laura Putney is Senior Counsel in our Los Angeles office. Laura joined the New York office of the Firm in 1996. Since 2001, she has been working for the Firm in Los Angeles. She has extensive experience in all aspects of labor relations, including union awareness training, union elections, proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, collective bargaining, and arbitrations. Laura has also developed a series of educational employment and labor law programs and seminars for managers and human resources professionals. Laura has a wealth of expertise in employment litigation and has advised employers on all types of employment law issues, including discrimination, wage and hour, reductions-in-force, restrictive covenants, FMLA, benefit policies, and disciplinary procedures. Laura is admitted in the state and federal courts of New York and California. Laura was selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers – Rising Stars Edition 2008.
Laura attended Furman University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. She then attended Harvard Law School and received her J.D. in 1995. Laura practiced law at Alston & Bird, LLP, in the labor and employment section before joining the New York office of KM&M.
