KM&M Launches Major Expansion of Los Angeles Office

KM&M is pleased to announce the addition of five highly experienced labor and employment lawyers to its Los Angeles office. With this expansion, KM&M offers to its clients in Southern California an unparalleled depth of experience in all aspects of labor and employment law and litigation, including class action litigation.

Naomi Young has practiced labor and employment law for over 30 years, most recently as a partner in the Los Angeles office of Baker Hostetler. She represents employers in all labor and employment matters, including class-based and individual discrimination, wage and hour, and wrongful discharge litigation, and collective bargaining. Naomi has tried numerous cases in state and federal courts, and has vast experience representing employers in arbitrations and before administrative agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.

Naomi was a founding principal of Gartner & Young, a boutique employment law firm. She has served as a Commissioner of the California Fair Employment and Housing Commission, as a referee to review lawyer disciplinary matters for the California State Bar Court, and as a court-appointed mediator. Naomi is a founding member of the National Employment Law Council and has served on the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section. She also is a member of the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Los Angeles and the California Association of Black Lawyers, and was selected as one of America’s Top Black Lawyers by Black Enterprise Magazine in 2003. Naomi is a graduate of St. Louis University and the Santa Clara University School of Law.

Lawrence J. Gartner was a founding principal of Gartner & Young and a partner at Baker Hostetler and also served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Since entering private practice, Larry has represented employers in more than 20 jury trials involving claims of employment discrimination, sexual and racial harassment, and wrongful termination. Larry is highly experienced in defending employers in the retail and services industries in class action wage and hour litigation. He also provides advice and counsel on matters spanning the entire range of labor and employment law. Larry is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and Harvard Law School.

Kimberly M. Talley represents private and public sector employers in a broad range of employment matters. Kim has litigated employment discrimination, wage and hour, and wrongful termination claims in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. She also advises employers on all employment-related issues, including wage and hour, employee discipline and termination, and EEO matters. Kim is a member of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles. She is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina and holds a law degree from Harvard Law School.

Joining KM&M as associates are Tazamisha H. Imara and Stefanie M. Gushá. Tazamisha is a graduate of Harvard  College and the University of California – Boalt Hall School of Law (where she was an editor of the Law Review), and she also holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard. Stefanie is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and Stanford Law School (where she was an editor of the Law and Policy Review).
