USCIS Releases Second Round of H-1B Lottery Selections

On July 29, 2021, the US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it has conducted a second selection round for H-1B lottery registrants after the first round of selections did not yield enough approvals to reach the numerical quota for H-1B visas. The filing period for petitions based on newly selected registrations will run from August 2, 2021 to November 3, 2021.

We will notify newly selected registrants of their selection as soon as possible.

US Extends Country-Specific Travel Bans

On July 26, the Biden administration announced that it will maintain all country-specific travel bans in light of concern about the Delta variant. Travelers from the Schengen countries, the UK, Ireland, China, South Africa, Brazil, India and Iran will continue to be prohibited from entering the US unless they qualify for a National Interest Exception. US citizens, permanent residents, their spouses and minor children, and certain other categories of travelers are exempt from the ban. The administration has not announced a timeline for lifting or reassessing the bans.
