Overview

Andrew Kurland, a Member in the firm’s entertainment labor practice, joined KM&M in May 2014. His practice focuses on advising and representing a range of producers, exhibitors, and distributors throughout the entertainment industry on matters involving the interpretation of guild and union collective bargaining agreements and the development of labor strategy.

Andrew also devotes a substantial amount of time to advising clients regarding the employment of minors in the entertainment industry, including the various state laws concerning minor work permits, trust account requirements, hours of work limitations, and educational and studio teacher requirements. Andrew’s representation of clients who employ minors also extends to petitioning for judicial approval of minor performer agreements.  

Andrew graduated from the University of Michigan, earning a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a bachelor of music degree in voice performance. He graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2013.
