Reminder: New York Minimum Wage and Minimum Exempt Salary Increases Effective December 31, 2019

Effective December 31, 2019, the minimum wage and minimum salary for exempt employees in New York State is increasing, except for the $15 per hour minimum wage rate for large New York City employers, which remains the same.  The new minimum wage rates are:

The new exempt salary levels in New York are:

New York City, 11 or more employees

$1,125.00 per week ($58,500.00 per year)

New York City, 10 or fewer employees

$1,125.00 per week ($58,500.00 per year)

Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties, regardless of size of employer

$975.00 per week ($50,700 per year)

Remainder of State, regardless of size of employer

$885.00 per week ($46,020 per year)
