Some US Embassies and Consulates Cancel Visa Interviews

US Embassies and Consulates in France, Jamaica, Israel and elsewhere are canceling or limiting scheduled visa interviews in response to the spread of coronavirus. The US Embassies in Paris, France and Kingston, Jamaica have both suspended routine operations and are canceling immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments until further notice. In Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, nonimmigrant interviews are limited to student and work visas and emergency cases. The Embassies and Consulates will reschedule applicants as necessary.

Given the fluid and fast-moving nature of the situation, we do not yet know whether other Embassies and Consulates will follow this trend. Due to the new restrictions on visitors from Schengen countries entering the United States, it is also unclear whether residents of Schengen countries may apply for a visa at a US Embassy or Consulate in a non-Schengen country.

If you have an interview scheduled anywhere in the world in the next few weeks, please contact us for the most current information.

We will continue to update you as more information becomes available.
