Overview

Joseph M. Yoo joined KM&M in November 2017 and is a member of the firm’s Immigration Practice Group.  He practices exclusively in the area of U.S. immigration and nationality law.

Joseph represents large and mid-size multinational companies, as well as smaller companies, start-ups, and individuals, in the consumer, finance, hospitality, technology, commodities, and industrial sectors. He advises and assists business clients to secure work visas and permanent residency on behalf of their employees, and to ensure compliance with complex laws affecting their employment of foreign workers. Joseph advises entrepreneurs and foreign investors with respect to their businesses and investments in the United States. He possesses extensive experience representing and assisting clients to obtain investor visas.

Joseph is a published author, as well as a speaker, on various business immigration-related topics. A zealous advocate of immigrants’ rights, he has been actively involved in bar associations, non-profit organizations, and community groups that assist immigrant communities and lobby for sensible immigration reform. Joseph has been selected as one of the 10 Best Attorneys in immigration law by the American Institute of Legal Counsel. His current and former memberships include the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Fordham Law Alumni Attorneys of Color Affinity Group, Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and the Korean American Community Foundation.

Joseph graduated from Binghamton University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1995. He is admitted to practice in New York.
