Trump Administration Extends Travel Restrictions to United Kingdom and Ireland
Following the travel ban for visitors from the European Schengen countries, the Trump administration has extended these restrictions to the United Kingdom and Ireland. Beginning at midnight Eastern Standard Time on Monday, March 16, travelers will be prohibited from entering the United States if they have been present in the United Kingdom or Ireland in the preceding 14 days. The ban does not apply to US citizens, permanent residents, or their immediate families, but these travelers will be subject to enhanced screening at airports. The same terms continue to apply to travelers who have been present in China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau), Iran, or any of the 26 Schengen countries in the 14 days prior to their travel to the United States.
