USCIS Announces 2025 H-1B Lottery Registration Dates

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has now announced that the initial registration period for the 2025 H-1B lottery will open at 12:00 noon EST on March 7, 2025, and run through 12:00 noon EST on March 24, 2025. The registration fee has increased to $215 per beneficiary. USCIS intends to notify all selected registrants by March 31, 2025.

As in previous years, employers must use a USCIS online account to register each beneficiary electronically. Prospective petitioners who do not already have a USCIS online account will need to create one ahead of the registration period.

There are 85,000 cap-subject H-1B visas available each year – 65,000 for applicants with at least a Bachelor’s degree, and 20,000 for applicants with a US Master’s degree. Applicants who have already been selected in a previous lottery or who will be working for certain cap-exempt organizations do not need to enter the lottery.
